Gateway Bait and Tackle is a shop specialising in providing bait to the saltwater fishing community of Ningi and Bribie Island.  Located on Bribie Island Road, it is very easily accessible to boating customers and to cars and pedestrians alike. 

Frozen bait is provided by Terry’s Premium Bait.  Live bloodworms are dug locally on a daily basis and provide the fisherman/fisherwoman that extra special experience.  Local fresh prawns and mullet are also available at certain times during the year (most weekends). Any other special requests can usually be met.   

Gateway Bait and Tackle also carries an extensive range of tackle.  Hooks, lines and sinkers are the basics for everyone’s tackle box.  Quality fishing rods and reels are also available.  Other accessories include crab pots, soft plastics, lures, cast nets and local maps and charts.  We also advertise local services such as boat hires for those who wish to experience the true Pumicestone Passage.

The owner, Nigel, loves to share his knowledge and love of fishing with anyone who asks.  He is the Bribie Island contact for local Brisbane radio station 4BC (1116AM) on Nugget's Fishing Show early every Saturday morning.  So listen and learn.
